Song:
Shady lanes, refreshing,
Teach me to be a blessing
To some weary soul each day,
Friends or foes who pass my way.

Rutas Argentinas

Rutas Argentinas

llevamos buenas cosas, llevamos buenas cosas,

llevamos buenas cosas, llevamos buenas cosas,
chicas y muchachos nos esperan allá,
pero nadie nos quiere llevar.

Tengo los dedos superateridos
de tanto esperar
a ese auto que me lleve por las rutas argentinas,
rutas argentinas, rutas argentinas, hasta el fin.

Walking home

China

"The tree lined road reminded me of France, despite being in China and there not being any baguettes or cheese is a hundred mile radius... This wet scene was the first time we took the dog for a walk, obviously it didn't quite go to plan!!! )="

"Here's the good news though, we left the dog at the vet last night and it's cold/fever is all cleared up!!! So it will get his injections very soon!!! Bad news being he has fleas now..... )= I personally groomed him earlier, like a monkey, not sure if that was a good idea..... =D"

Up the wall

Up the wall, copyright by Miss Aniela, all rights reserved.

I went to sleepy Falmer village again (where I shot The Wooden Door) but this time to the South side. It's like a false idyll; only yards away is Sussex University campus and the vast grey dual carriageways, and here, a lake with hissing geese and nesting ducks around it, drooping dreamy trees, ancient gravestones and a great big castle-like church.

It might be a quiet place, but I was disturbed a few times: a woman who was lingering about, waiting for the traffic on the A23 to calm down, struck up a conversation about photography with me (I told her to check out Flickr) a skinny priest hustled to his presbytery, and a boy and girl walked into my line of fire to snap the scenery with their own camera.

Tried a few different scenes of shooting, but it was this unexpected frame that lured me in the most. The red flowers, the double yellow line, the textured wall.
More to come from this location.

Hit the Road, Jack!

Hit the Road, Jack!, copyright by joaobambu, all rights reserved.

Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)
What you say?
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)

Woah Woman, oh woman, don't treat me so mean,
You're the meanest old woman that I've ever seen.
I guess if you said so
I'd have to pack my things and go. (That's right)

(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)
What you say?
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)

Now baby, listen baby, don't ya treat me this-a way
Cause I'll be back on my feet some day.
(Don't care if you do 'cause it's understood)
(you ain't got no money you just ain't no good.)
Well, I guess if you say so
I'd have to pack my things and go.

Well
(don't you come back no more.)
Uh, what you say?
(don't you come back no more.)
I didn't understand you
(don't you come back no more.)
You can't mean that
(don't you come back no more.)
Oh, now baby, please
(don't you come back no more.)
What you tryin' to do to me?
(don't you come back no more.)
Oh, don't treat me like that
(don't you come back no more.)

The Mittens

The Mittens, copyright by Mike Pedroncelli, all rights reserved.

This is the standard view of the Mittens from the Monument Valley visitor's center viewing platform.

The road in the foreground is the beginning of a 17 mile loop road. Lots of John Ford / John Wayne movies were filmed from the road.

It's $10 to enter the visitor's center parking lot and/or take the loop drive. The Navajos aren't big on road maintenance. It's a pretty bumpy road. You can take a "tour" in an open back bus with thin little padding on the seats and a driver who's in a hurry. We didn't do that. It looked insane. We drove ourselves instead.

There were lots of German tourists, a few Japanese, and a smattering of English, French, and Americans.
